Default Makeshift heat shields

My XJ has no heat shield over the muffler or the cat.. The heat will cause floor rust and I'm not about that. What do you guys suggest to use for a heat shield? I can't find any OEM heat shield replacements...

Thanks

You could try the Thermo Tec stuff. It's adhesive and supposed to be good up to 2000 degrees. I've never used it, but it has good reviews.

Or see if you can pull a stock heat shield from the yard.

I thought moisture and free oxygen caused rust. Not heat.

What would be the best way to mount any such heat shielding?
