Default Maintenence required light

Hey i just bought a 1992 cherokee and it's maintenance required light is on. I know this is just a timing thing, but i don't know how to turn it off. Any Ideas??

this happened to a buddy of mine, he just took off the battery terminals for like 5 minutes to reset the brains of the operation or i guess CPU and it didn't come back on so that may work? but his light was on due to he put a throttle body spacer on his, but it may work for you. hope this helps

Like he said disconnect the battery. The computer has a capacitor so when you disconnect the battery is holds the old information or something like that. To drain the power, just hold down the horn button for like 10 seconds. That should completely reset the computer.
