Had a little time this afternoon so I threw an antennae bracket together. It was pretty solid without the 3rd self tapper, but I might want to run one of my 9' whips (hick, I know
), so I put it in. Took a while to get it shaped and bent right so it didn't hit the hatch. Now I just have to figure out were to put my cb.....

Very sweet. My friends got a firestik on his Wrangler. They're good antennas. And in my buddies 2000, we put the CB (If its small enough) inbetween the console and the passenger seat. Heh.
nice mount. you may want to put a spring on the antenna though. i had an antenna just like that and i thought it was flexy enough not to break on the trail. i was wrong. after about 10 min of trees wacking it, it broke off. i got another one and a spring and i havent broken it yet

Nice mount. I have my CB installed but haven't got a place for the antenna. I want to run the 102" antenna. I want to run it on my roof rack but don't know how to get the wire up there without drilling a hole in the roof.

Without drilling a hole in the roof, I would run the coax to the back hatch and have it exit the hatch at a low point so that water doesnt leak in. Run the coax up along the outside of the hatch seal and upto your roof rack. I dont recall how close the rack comes to the hatch as I dont have a roof rack.. stock or otherwise.

Looks good, Hopefully you can get it to tune. I made a bracket for mine that looked the same as yours, but I could not get a good SWR out of it. I tried all kinds of stuff, different antenna masts, I tried switching antenna cables, I moved it to the other side of the vehicle and nothing worked. The best SWR I could get was a 3.0, The guy at the Radio shack in town is a HAM radio nerd and he tried to help me also. He said that the mounting position had a poor ground plain, because of this I could not transmit more than about 50 feet......no joke.
Any distance greater than that and whatever I said over the Mic was garbled and unclear.

What I was thinking of doing is taking some coper tubing and bending it to the contour of the jeeps side up to the rack. Then snaking the coax cable through it. Then paint the tube to match the exterior color of the jeep. I thought about it for a while, It would also keep the cable from being snagged by a limb. I could also exit the cable through the bottom of the cherokee.

Nice
Looks as good as thought ones I BOUGHT for my XJ and WJ. definitely put a spring on that thing.
That' the same place I mounted mine on my XJ, although I went on the passenger side, and I had no problems tuning it. I se a fire stick also. If you can't get it tuned they because of lack of ground plane they make a firestick that is for places without a ground plane. Or you can run a grounding wire from your antenna bracket to a ground on the chasis.
On my XJ and WJ I just ran the coax through a gromet behind the tail light. Came through into the cargo area easy enough and then I was able to keep it tucked up under the trim panels all the way to the dash were I mount my CBs.
In my XJ my CB is too big to mount between the center console and passenger seat so I mounted it to the underside of the dash on the passenger side. I'll take pics later.
If you can make and distribute those for less than $15 (that's what the ones I use cost) you might be in buisness
