Anyone used a LVLP paint gun for topcoat ?
They are cheaper than HVLP. I have read a few good reviews, just don't have much more info on them.
My HVLP gun is from Harbor Freight, but I don't think it's the best for final paint.
Any suggestions ?

As a retired body man/painter your gonna get a cheap looking paint job with a cheap gun. There's just no way around it. If you can afford it get a HLVP gravity fed gun. This is the type with the can on top rather than the bottom. They are great when working over the roof and hood areas. You have less of a chance of dragging the gun in your work when reaching over the vehicle and to me the guns are just more comfortable. Now as far as how your finish will look that will depend on what your squirting down. You just going single stage or are you doing base coat/clear coat? If your doing just single stage do 4 to 5 coats and wet sand and buff when done. The wet sand will knock off and smooth out coat five and the buff will work out coat four. When done you have 3 nice coats. Just remember cheap guns don't always spray clean and can tip drip on you.
