Default Lund Visor Hole fill

Long story short, got a lund visor, installed with self tappers. Wanna take it off this leaving holes. What is the easiest way to fill these holes so no water comes through. I don't mind looking at the holes just want em water tight. Any help is appreciated.

Weld them up, grind em down, paint em over.

Don't have acces to a welder... The screws popped out this making the holes bigger. I either buy bigger screws and remount or buy bigger screws don't remount and just use silicone. I don't really like it.

The acetic acid present in silicone can accelerate rust if you don't seal the metal very well. IMO try to bondo it, but then you're gonna have to redo some paint .

maybe some kind of filler? you would prob have lumps though if your screws pulled. what about letting a machine shop tack up the holes?

I would take it to a body shop since they are accustomed to welding thin sheet metal. Other people in my same boat got quoted 250-350. Thus, I'm thinking, a bigger screw, rubber washer and silicon. With the small lumps, when I screw the screw in, it should push the lumps down.

I wouldn't count on it...

Take it somewhere that can weld it up and get a quote... It can't hurt.

Hell, drive up here and I'll weld it up.

Depends on what you would like the finished results to look like. Nice, don't care, Plan on reselling it some day, Or just going to beat it to death anyways. That would be the first decision to make. Welding would be the best answer. But If you don't care, then bolts washers and silicone. If you really don't care, and want to save money. Tap a small tapered cork in the hole, cut them off.

Sand it down and use some jb weld to fill it up. I did that to fill up some small holes I had in the roof. I also mounted some grab handles to the inside for the front passengers and rear. I had to drill thru the roof and just used a construction grade silicone sealant. No I didn't buy the jb weld or silicone just for this, I had it laying around in the garage and didn't want to make a trip to the store. Its been holding up for about 8 months now with no leaks.

go to a hard ware store and get EPDM water cut off, its caulk for rubber roofing, it isnt made from silicone but is water tight. This is what i used when i installed the visor on my first XJ and then when i took it off and put it on my second XJ. when i took it off the first one there was hardly any rust under it, and it was on there for 5+ years
