i dove into changing my lower control arms on my 92 cherokee 4x4 with no knowledge of the proper steps to do so. I found out quickly that the coil springs will make the axle spin around a few inches when the lowers are both removed at the same time. Help Help how do I resolve this problem I got myself into. I need to know the way to return the axle back to its proper position and install the lower control arms.

Ratchet straps!

X2! i used ratchet straps when i put my lift in.

 

I had issues using ratchet straps.. I ended up removing the coil completely, putting arms in first, then coils.

 

Floor jack and an 18" pipe wrench.
