Low oil pressure light came on and now jeep wont start

Low oil pressure light came on and now jeep wont start
The light is on and i changed the oil and filter but it still wont start im going to try cleaning the oil pump next. The old oil was really black. And the manual is pointing to a clogged pump or pickup tube. Any helpful tips.
