I have an '87 Cherokee Chief 4.0L Auto w/ command-trac and non-limited slip diffs. When I first bought the XJ a few weeks ago, it had a loud whine coming from the front whenever I had it in 4WD, I figured it just needed a differential flush. So I just got done fully cleaning the diff and filled it with Amsoil 75w-90 Severe Gear and took it for a test drive. It still makes the loud whine in the front and you can hear the tires chirp/hop whenever turning in 4WD. After I cleaned the diff I inspected the gears and spun the wheels with the 4WD engaged and everything looked fine and spun with no problems. Anyone have any idea what is wrong with my 4WD?
Thanx
