LOUD SQUEAKING!!!
Hey Guys. When I start my jeep there is a squeaking sound and when I rev the engine it gets louder and louder. Sometimes it stops. Sometimes it takes 20 min to stop. It is always worse if the heater/defrost etc. are on. Please Help. Its driving me crazy!!! Loud squeaking from the belt area of power steering pulley around there.

you need to adjust the belt. Look to see if it's bad also while your in there.
to adjust it you will need a 15mm end wrench and you will need to adjust the pulley under the power steering pump. Loosen the bolt for the pulley and then tighten the bolt that is mounted on an angle by that pulley.

Hey I've replaced belts but have never adjusted one. How would I go about doing that. Or If I replaced it will it still have to be adjusted? Thanks.

When you look at the power steering pump the pulley directly below it is the adjustment. Loosen the center bolt on the pulley in question, it's a 15mm using a long end wrench or long ratchet to reach it, moving to the bolt that is directly behind it you will need a 15mm ( pretty sure ) socket with extension and ratchet to easily work the adjustment screw. I would tighten it until you get about half inch or less deflection when you push in on the belt pretty hard.

while you are in there look at your harmonic balancer. It could be going bad and rubbing on the timing cover and then moving back out. mine started that whole squeak some times and sometimes not and after a belt and idler pulley It didn't stop. then I noticed a huge oil leaks because my harmonic balancer had finally worn its way through my timing cover.
