Them guys is chargin you for labor darlin' at that price.

Heater core really is not too difficult and not that expensive, if........

A. Willing to study the R & R procedure in detail.

B. Willing to curse A LOT !

C. Can use tools with some semblance of capability.

D. Use a complete weekend and take your time.(can be done in a day, but.......take your time)

E. Maybe have some helpers?

F. Have the room and place to accomplish.

Now for the brakes, you should only have to replace pads, that's rather easy from a wrenching point of view........

Buy a haynes manual at your local autozone/o'reillys/advance etc.
study it......

If you do decide to change heater core yourself with help etc..., remember where ALL the dash connecting screws go! (taking photos as you go helps)

Just my two an a half cents!

An best wishes, cuz the jeep IMHO is one of the best vehicles ever made
durability wise. I have had mine since '91 and she still takes a lickin and keeps on tickin!!!

Did I mention I got my A/C fixed? yeehaw!

sorry.

Hi Diana, and welcome! My 90 started smelling and fogging the windshield years ago. I had good luck with that powdered stop leak that comes in a little cylinder originally called Alumaseal. Don't trust the other stuff to not clog something up.

The overall condition of the interior, weather striping, doors, locks, latches, hinges, headliner carpet all that stuff, that's endless. No fun. The mechanical stuff, that's all a good investment. Jeeps are very well made. Fixed right they really hold up. If the overall condition is good, I wouldn't let a bad smell and an ugly windshield put me off. You do know that you are asking the wrong people? My 90, with over 1/4 million miles runs GREAT! Only the stuff you can reach is worn out.

Don't know how bad it is, but you probably want to fix the windshield before you sell it. "curb appeal", from the other direction!

Hey! just thought of something..........

are you sure it's NOT just the heater control valve that is bad?

mine went bad and I thought i had to change the H-C out, but ......for 20 bucks I swapped the Heater control valve...(it's that plastic thingy on the left side of the motor near the firewall with the bigger hoses going to it)....and viola' i had heat!

course i dont know if you have the 4.0L in-line six cylinder or not..(thats where mine is)

just a thought.....

Diana,,,,

with regard to the windshield.....is the crack (no pun intended).....across your field of vision when you are driving? how bad is it? if its more than 6 inches long, most states say its a "safety issue" (BAH! I say, but then again I am not the ruling class, oh wait!, we are the state....oh wait, no we're not, hey! what's goin on here?)....anyway, just trying to be lighthearted, as all life should be......

but seriously, any chance insurance can swap the windshield for you?

if not safelite, are kinda ok in the windshiled swap pricing.. mine was 150.00
but yours is newer, call em get an estimate, and they are good an quick.

my another 2 cents
