Default Lost Low End Power in Drive

Went offroading drove over some thick tree logs had to put in 4wd. Got back on level surface to disengage 4wd. Noticed when I took off I barely had any power. Put it in reverse and had my normal. Put it in 1st gear it was in between. It will get up to speed though. I also have brown, badly smelling tranny fluid that I have not changed yet, but never had a problem til now. So before I start digging into the internals, anyone have any ideas?

change the fluid, may wanna do it a couple of times, also make sure your kick down cable is set properly. i had the same problem, thought i was over heating the trans, but come to find out my kick down wasnt adjusted properly and was actually starting off in second gear. try that see if it helps.

Went out yesterday and everything was back to normal. I will be changing the tranny fluid today.
