Lost brake lights and turn signals
Hello-been doing some work to my newly acquired 96 XJ, 4.0 auto. General stuff, tune up, working on leaks, etc.
I am getting it ready to be inspected, but last night, as I was giving it the once over, the turn signals and brake lights quit on me. I know the brake lights worked prior, and I think the turn signals worked.
The running lights all work, I just can't get them to flash. The hazards don't work either.
I have the owner's manual, but it seems the diagram doesn't match my vehicle. The fuse panel under the dash does not have a fuse in #8, which is where the flasher is supposed to be. There aren't even contacts in that location for 2 spades of the fuse.
I think that I have a relay for the flashers, but before I start buying parts, I thought I would ask to see if anyone else has had a similar issue. It really feels like it should be a fuse, but I can't find anything blown.
Advice?
Thanks in advance

Going from the 1995 diagram there is a fuse in the PDC which is directly linked to the brake light and flasher circuit, that fuse is Fuse 4 - 20A.
I would suggest checking that fuse and the others in the PDC if you haven't already.

So it looks like it was the 20A Maxi Fuse in the PDC, now I just need to figure out why it blew. I think I may have a problem with the left front signal. I'll dig into that later and update.
Thanks for the advice.
