1990 jeep cherokee limited. 140k miles. original renix motor. upgraded radiator to closed system. new o2 sensor, new fuel filter, ac upgrade to r-134a was done by previous owner.
So here is the deal.... OCCASIONALLY i will loose throttle power while accelerating with the ac on. it is not all the time, and it is not changed by hot, cold, running for a while, or just starting up.
Here is the other occassional and they do seem to be related. Occassionally i will start the jeep and the and it will idle hard and stall. when this happens i start it up, put some gas on it, and it drives fine. when i changed the fuel filter it definately helped and the events started happening less often. previous owner says timing was done at 120k....
im pretty stumped. i hate having to throw a parts bomb in and start changing out 20 year old sensors... im gonna sell this thing as soon as its fixed. i want a newer one that i can plug in and get a code that tells me what sensor is wrong. let me know what i can do to figure this out as cheap as possible. thank you

Does the compressor make noise? Try taking the belt off and feel the bearings like up and down and spin it.
Sent from my mind using the rusty stock leafs off my xj.
