loose turbo power at 2k revs

Default loose turbo power at 2k revs

hi im new here so forgive me if i make any errors

i have a 1998 gand cherokee 2.5 td
every so often i loose power at at 2k revs and max speed is 65mph
but some days its fine?
ive changed maff sencor so far then was fine following day but 4days afta no power again etc etc.

please help

do you have a boost guage to verify a loss of boost?

the reason i ask is I have had tons of diesels fall flat on there face over a simple clogged fuel filter.

hi no boost guage, it starts to boost but as soon as it gets to 2k its flat

get it checked for codes, could be restriction in the air charge cooler, pin holes in the the charge side hose, faulty baro sensor , even a bad intake air temp sensor(shorted internally)

Need codes to begin with.......

ive done the ignition trick for codes but none found.?
ive changed the air flow sensor but the same, problem comes and goes gunna change egr control unit next.(mass/map sensor)

its a pain in the bum

Take the air filter off and run it like that. See if it still happens

wish i could help more but i have zero exp in cherokee diesels(dont even know what motor they used!) edit;it a mv(used in range rovers alot.)


check the boost sensor on the #1 injector, quess its a common failure.
