Well i just bought this 96 jeep cherokee classic about 4-5 months ago and Ive already had to do the left side ball-joints (hit a huge pothole and the top stud broke lose in the ball-joint and the bottom one was toast the right side is perfect top and bottom though). It looks like all the bushings everywhere are dried and crumbling plus the rear leafs seem to be a bit saggy compared to my dads 85 renix. Well the entire vehicle feels loose and i don't mean steering wise. It tracks straight as an arrow but sometimes going from reverse to drive or just going forward from a stop it feels like the entire rear axle moves forward slightly. I was thinking of just buying new leafs with the bushings in them to give it a shot and see if that works. All the u-joints are good so I'm not sure where to really go from there.

Start with cheap stuff, and work your way up.
If your leafs are sagging might as well replace them
Get a complete bushing kit and run through everything.
