Default Looking for TRACK info for alignment. HELP

It WORKED! Yes, the rear and front axles are the same width on the XJ. I was able to lay down 2 parallel lines using the center hubs of the front and rear wheels. Found out that my front had a serious "Toe In" problem. About 1 inch between both fronts. ugh. Adjusted the tie-rod until the rim was parallel with the string via measuring in MMs. Done deal! My XJ is a dream to drive again! WOOT and I saved $100 for now too!

Im tired of shelling out $100 every time I need to have my 92 XJ aligned. So, i'm gonna at least get it close in the garage with parallel strings.

Does anyone know the "track" width difference between the front and rear? Or are both front and rear axles the same width?

The XJ Wiki claims that the track has remained UNCHANGED throughout the life of the XJ but they don't tell what it is. lol

If anyone knows, please tell me.

Thanks!

Basically run a line along side the centerline of the wheels front to back. Then measure the error in the line from the front edge of the front rim to the tailing edge of the front rim on both sides to check for mis-alignment.

I need a completely parallel line and was wondering if the rear axles are the same width as the front. If not, I need the track width for each so I can adjust my lines accordingly.

Ill head out to the garage and take some measurements.
