Looking at '00 Cherokee and a '99 as well... advice please
If youre really interested in the 00 check oil for antifreeze take oil fill cap off and with good flashlight inspect whats going on in there and look real hard between cyls. 3 & 4 for crack. If you decide to buy it do t-sat. change coolant flush and new rad. cap and of course find out why the cel is on? before you buy it my 2cts.

I would go with $3000 and offer that to the owner of the 00. A stack of $100 bills will speak volumnes. Remember, be there and let him see the money. Do not offer it on the phone. Only in person. Say this is all you got. Especially with the CEL on, he'll probably take it. Then get in it, reach in your other pocket for $500 and your cell phone, go buy the 99.

you could fix both of them decide which one you want and sell the other for a profit
Both...for sure.
The parts + scrap price of the 99 would make it worth it. Id buy almost any Cherokee for $500, your looking at $200 just in scrap (more with aluminum wheels), and if it has good glass and interior, no rust fenders and doors, you will make some money and have plenty of spare parts. I wouldnt buy one with that many miles for a DD though, wheel it or part it.
