Long Cranking...Please Help Trouble Shoot
Before anyone asks...I have googled the shat out of this and have found TONS of things that people claim it could be from a dryrotted hose on the fuel pump inside the gas tank to the auto shutdown relay. My problem is the jeep use to turn over in about 2 seconds....now it takes about 5 seconds and sometimes will choke up and stall out the first time it fully turns over. The next time I turn the key it starts up immediatly.
I noticed this problem after I changed my oil. I dont know how much that could related, but the engine has 104,000 miles on it. I put 10w-30 in it which i know isnt a super thick oil. Could me doing this and removing old thick oil cause the longer cranking times?
Any help would greatly appreciated.

Do you have access to a fuel pressure gauge?
what if you try turning the key to the run position for a few seconds to let the fuel pump prime/build up pressure, then try starting it?

I've never been in a pre-'97 jeep that I couldn't hear the fuel pump on.
That's just my own personal experience mind you, but if it were mine, I'd swap the fuel pump (and fuel filter too, just because).
If you can't be good, be good at it!

I recant that.
First, I'd pull the battery and have autozone test it for me. They generally test them for free.
Remember, heat kills batteries and even in perfect conditions, they don't last forever.
If the battery is good, but dead, check the alternator (IIRC, autozone can check those as well!).
Always rule out the easy-to-fix causes before you start wrenching.
