Can I buy an aftermarket locking cap for my '99 or will it throw a code after?
Here if your vehicle throws a code of any kind you fail emissions-nice, eh? And they are onto the battery disconnect deal as all "readiness monitors must be ready" so I don't want to go down that road over a cap....

It shouldnt. I have a 91 but I have had a locking cap for awhile now. Just go into a parts house and they should be able to set you up with the right cap.
