Not being a Smart A$$ but in my opinion if you have to ask somebody else if it is worth the money to get a locker for your Jeep then you really don't need one. I was 4wheeling on trails that were too hardcore for my Jeep to make it through with open diffs, was when I realized I wanted them.

I think the more important question is, whats worth it more, a winch or lockers? lockers will get you threw more then open diffs, but regardless were you get stuck a winch will most likely get you out .

I wish I had them this past weekend trying to drive through 3+feet of unplowed snow up a hill. I made it, eventually. Definitely on my "to do" list.

Have a detroit in my 8.25 and couldn't be happier, especially with the last few snowstorms.

That just means your weren't wheeling hard enough!! my body has been beat up since day one lol and I was open at day one. not anymore now. moab beat my Heep up!

lockers are worth it. but it depends on what you want out of your jeep. if you wheel a lot and you find yourself getting hung up then lock it. if your just cruising trails with low difficulty and not really wheeling too much then leave it open. honestly id go with a Dana spicer limited slip in the rear. its what i have for my 98 and wheel a lot and drive it every day, and they aren't as expensive as full lockers.

if you decide to lock it, go with an aussie locker or something selectable. just my .02
