I have a spare key stashed on everything I own, have for years my wife has been the only one to ever use them.
I have Insurance with Family Motor Coach Association that covers towing, lock-outs, fuel, tire changes you name it on the Motor Home.....but it covers everything that I own even trailers cost $87 yr. 6 total units covered.
Can't beat the price, oh yes they pay the bill for you, you pay nothing and they dispatch the company. The company has to be there quickly or they are dismissed for another company. Not like AAA for sure where you can hours on someone to get to you.
Plus I still have a half dozen slim jims laying around from when I was in the towing business.

Well, I found the keys.
Guess where they were......??????
On the roof! LMAO.
After the locksmith came, I drove the XJ to get a tire put on at Midas (2-3 miles) away. They stayed on the roof, in the exact spot I put them.
It was JUST tall enough where I couldn't see it (I'm 6'3").
My wife said something about checking the roof, and de ja vue-I JUST remembered where they were.
Freaking miracle, no lie.
Had my safety deposit box key on the key ring too ($100 drill out fee if lost).

I wont give away the exact instructions, but my AAA Lockout Service Manual (I'm a part time locksmith, and I run a lockpicking forum
suggests using an in the door tool to push forward on the horizontal linkage inside the door on 1990 to 2001 models. The book is older though and I know using an air wedge and long reach tool is more popular now.
