I saw all the threads on putting T-Case in neutral and AW4 in Park but what about electrical?
Im setting my 99 XJ up for towing behind my RV and I want to get a better understanding on the wiring issues. It seems like I can use a diode based wiring harness and utilize the existing lights and there may also be an option to install extra bulbs in the light bezel to bypass factory wiring all together.
Im also interested in charging the XJ battery from the coach while towing.

Anyone try to use the extra bulb setup? Is there room in the XJ bezel?

How about the diode based systems, pluses and minues?

Seems to me that magnetic lights would be a lot easier and cheaper. Why do you not want to go that route?

 

Im not sure I don't want to go magnetic, just exploring all the options first.

Im looking for the "best" solution, which I know is rather vague.

 

Magnetic lights IMO, no messing with the vehicles wiring, and then you can tow *any* vehicle that you can hook a tow bar up to.
