drove it today in the wonderful norcal rain storm we had, worked fine. parked it at work, went out afterward and nothing. I didn't get the standard sash lights that pop on during ignition; the check engine starting light...no radio, no heater when in the full ON position...but when I popped the hood, the hood light came on. i checked the lights, yep, they work too, the dome light as well...but nothing. no werwerwer noise, no clackclackclack...nothing.

could it be the starter / cylinoid? or the ignition switch?

 

When my 91 with an automatic trans. did this it was the neutral safety switch located on the top of the trans.

 

i wondered that too but think it's probably related to the mess of wires that look as if they were pulled from the fuse area...near the brake pedal...eeeks.

 

mine did the EXACT same thing i cant remember exactly what it is but its a sensor on my starter had gone bad
