Alright, so here's what I'm looking at. I've got a friend with a 96 Cherokee. He's mentioned wanting to lift it before, but I know he won't want to be spending much. So, basically what I'm looking for is some options.
I was thinking of lift shackles, but I'm not sure how those would work (on the jeep, not how shackles work). It would be great to fab some up, but I'm not sure of how they would work/what could be used front/back.
Has anybody welded up their own shackles? I did some searching on this site, but can't find much. Also, what would be the best way to lift the front?
Like I say, I'm not familiar with jeeps, and I don't know what is in front and back. From searching, it looks like I would want coil spacers in front, and shackles in back. Bottom line, looking for about a 2" lift, as cheap as possible. Preferably fabbing something up vs buying pre-made.
Thanks for any tips/advice you have to offer. Also, if this has been answered before, I'm sorry. I did some searching, but couldn't find anything about things being fabbed up.

Yes, it's a Cherokee.
I'm sorry, like I say, I didn't know much about Jeeps.
My apologies, if a mod could move it for me that would be great.
What's the difference between a Grand Cherokee, and a Cherokee, anyway?

their is a member on here that sells 2" coil spacers and their getting good reviews so you could find them i think he has a vendor thread
then for the rear an add a leaf or bastard pack from an s-10 will get you lift in the rear

I'll have to look at that--
With the lift from coil spacers and s-10 springs/shackles, can you clear 31's (as in no/very little) rubbing in full compression and turn?
Also, since it's solid front and rear, after the coil spacers, no alignment should be needed, correct?
