Liftgate trim panel removal?
How does one remove the trim panel on the rear liftgate of a '89 Jeep Cherokee Laredo? I can't seem to find any screws, clips or pins.

I think there's a few screws and a bunch of those plastic "christmas tree" fasteners around the edge.
Here's what the fasteners look like. These are for a WJ but an XJ are similar. http://www.wjjeeps.com/4sale/wj_for_sale.htm

Don't know if this will help since mine are broken, but since mine are broken I can give you a sneak peak between the metal and the trim for the lift gate. Both pics are from the left corner.

there are a couple philips head screws that may be hidden in the lower corners of the carpeted piece. (at least on mine), then the trim clips, but be careful pulling these, they are tight and may snap the plastic holder on the lift panel. then you'll have a noisy hatch trim.
