you gotta take it to a shop and have them re-align it for you, its best do to do before 500miles after installing the lift or you can get some problems. theres a way to do it yourself without a mechine but its difficult

alot of ppl think they have death wobble but really they just need a proper alignment after installing a lift.

Take to any competent shop, they'll do the rest. Get a warranty or lifetime alignment if they offer it too.

yup, most ppl dont even know what death wobble feels like. before assuming a person has death wobble that person needs to check, all steering components, gett an alignment, check ujoints. etc.

I know i dont have death woble and the wheel is only off enough to anoy me. I heard that if you diconected the pitman arm from the steering wheel box then straightened the wheel and put the arm back on, it would work. Anyone know if this is true?

Spend a couple bucks, have it done right. Save the life on your tires and excessive wear on your rig. And like I said, ask if they offer a warranty. That way every time your done wheeling, you can take it back to them the next day and get it straightened out again, free of charge.

It is easier than that...

Your drag link (rod that goes from pitman arm to passenger side steering knuckle has an adjustable collar for the tie rod that connects to the pitman arm. Keep your tires on the ground, unlock the column (insert key, turn to on), loosen the collar and adjust until the steering wheel is straight.

I got a new set of tires a year or two ago and after putting new tie rods in I decided to try and align it myself to at least get it close until I could get it into a shop... Still haven't taken it to a shop.. drives straight and no odd tire wear. I just took my time and took a lot of measurements. I would measure the distance between the side walls of the tires both in front of the axle and behind the axle. Maybe I got lucky that it turned out as good as it did.

Thanks, i know a shop will do it for only $60-$80 but id rather do it myself. Seems everytime I take it to a shop i have to go right back because they messed something up.

Prerunner is right. Do not move the pitman arm.. Just move the jeep straight about 10-15 ft. without touching the steering wheel. loosen and adjust the adjusting sleeve on the drag link till the wheel is straight. keep the wheel unlocked as stated.

This will straighten your steering wheel, but it is not an alignment! This does nothing for your castor or your toe, which are what need aligned after you do a lift. Fixing your wheel is just cosmetic......take it to a shop and pay the $70. You will save money on tire and steering parts wear, easily.

Right... and I didn't mean it as such, only to straighten the wheel.
