Default Lifted 2wd?

Im picking up a 2wd Comanche this week sometime and was wondering what you all would think of a 2wd Jeep lifted? Nothing extreme of course just high enough to put my 31s" on the MJ off the XJ. Im obviously not going to wheel it too hard so i guess it would be mostly for looks. What do you think? Stupid idea? Rustys has a 3 in aal kit for less than 3 bills, thats why im considering it. The intentions with this Jeep are for a DD for work.

i love mj's, and if you find a decent one i'd buy it. personally though i have no use for a 2 wd jeep. i'd put that 3 bills toward 4x4 parts.

wade's project 89 eliminator started out as a 2wd if i remember right.

but if you have no intention of ever using 4x4 with it, it will look pretty cool with what you're saying.

Just remember one thing:

The higher you lift it, the more that straight solid axle will show.

But a 3" with 31"s should look okay.

Every Commanche I have seen in my area is/are bone stock. Which is a crying shame. The XJ/MJ Jeep platform lends itself to a nicely to being lifted.

I say lift it.

lift that sucker. i would stay away from aal's and get a full leaf pack, your better off in the long run. mine started out 2wd with a 2" spacer and shackle lift. was that way for a little bit till i got the bug haha

My immediate intentions are using this comanche (my 3rd one, second one able to drive down the road) just for a DD so i can throw some money at the XJ. I really like the Comanche's and specially because its getting to be a rare breed. Even tho this one ain't 4x4 it should get pretty decent fuel mileage and the body is in great shape. It should stay that way till i decide to start to tinker with it. I want to comanche to drive.. not really wheel. Thats what i wanna do with the xj cuz it ain't worth **** if i sell it because it was a prior salvage rig that took a tumble. worth more to me than someone who might consider buying it.

Stay away from AAL? My XJ has AAL in the rear with almost 40k miles on them and they have not sagged much at all. Is it the install or the worry of the sagging that people always figure to shy away from? Im liking the price of the AAL tho so im most likely going to go with it. And i wanna stay around 2-3" of lift.

I hope it ain't going to look weird with that 2wd "tube" in the front sticking out for everyone to see and gawk about.

Im looking at a 91 Mj eliminator right now with some some body damage for a DD as well, my plan is going to be pretty similar lift it a little so i can clear the curbs, drive it as my DD for a while then when i get a a diff DD lift the crap out of it throw in the 4x4 parts and KICK SOME @$$!
