lift or re-lift question?????

Okay so here my question: I have a 2000 XJ sport, it currently has a 2.5 inch super lift coils in the front, and AAL in the back. It was that way when I bought it. Got new tires last week, and the rub something horrible. They are 31 X 10.5-15’s. That is the same size as before, just more tread. So I bought 1.75 coil spacers for the front, that I will put on this weekend. How much am I going to bring up the back to even it out? Also one of the AAL’s are broken right in the center. It still stays together, but will need replacing too. So I might consider new leaf packs or maybe bastard packs. Anyone got any advice? Thanks in advance.

Well it sounds like your in for some work. If you have the budget i would say go with a whole new three inch, but if you don't you will obviously need new add-a-leafs for the back, or maybe even full packs if you can afford it. As for the front the spacer you will put in will net you at around three, so if you get the full packs for the three inch lift, you should be good. What shocks do you have on there? They may not let you travel far enough.

Just use bastard packs for the rear

Definately fix the rear. Soon.

I'd bastard pack the rear. Do you have stock contol arms and track bar?

31x10.5's are going to rub no matter how high you lift your rig if you do not bumpstop and/or trim some in addition to adjusting your steering stops.

When you stuff a 31x10.5 it'll rub whether you have 1" lift or 4" lift.
When you cut the wheel the tires will rub the control arms no matter what lift you have.

Bumpstop, and steering stop... and definately fix that busted leaf. Personally, I would go with a leaf pack from a repuatable vendor.
If you already have 2.5" lift coils, and add a 1.75" spacer you will be running 4.25" lift up front. At that height factor in an adjustable trackbar and adjustable control arms (which will get some of your turning radius back) to make it go down the road ok.
If you plan to go that high out back, factor in a SYE.
