Default Lift for a newb?

So i get paid this week and was looking at doing a 3 inch lift in my 96 sport. the rear leaf springs r pretty much flat and almost ben the opposite direction haha. so i was wondering without spending more than like 400. i know thats not a lot but i have seen the lifts for like 250 i was just wondering if i could get a list of parts that r super important to see which kit i can get that has them. I dont really care about what i might need yatta yatta. haha. just was is required... it is a daily driver no trails so it doesnt have to be super strong. idk haha i just need some pointers b4 i drop the big bucks

You're better off saving up a little more. Anything under $400 is most likely going to be AAL, which isn't going to do you any good since you need new leafs. Save up another $200 and go with a 3" full spring pack kit through either RC or Rusty's. Since you're mainly using it as a DD, Rusty's rides a little nicer.
As far as what you actually need:
3" leafs or s-10 leafs and 1" shackles
3" coil springs or ZJ coils and 1" spacers
shocks (factory shocks are only rated for 2" lift max)
new bushings for it all
possibly a t-case drop if you get drive line vibrations after installing the lift.
My suggestion would be go with Rusty's. Good quality, still a pretty smooth ride, and if you do want o hit any trails, lots of flex.

On my 98 I just put Spacers and shackles. Enough for my 33's. The Spacers are teraflex and are about 2" and from top to bottom of shackles are 9". Not to sure wtf he rule of thumb is for measuring those :-). But Im assuming it didn't cost much I traded some guy on craigslist a 60$ sub for it. But you will need new shocks stock just doesn't cut it. Cheap, easy as hell and works. For me at least!
