Default Lift kits

What is the best 3-3.5" add-a leaf suspension you can get for an XJ including coils, aal's, and shocks for the best price? looking to spend under 300...wont be doing any serious crazy flex off-roading...just want a nice lift with a good ride so I can fit some 31's on nice wheels.

Thanks

Rusty's. I think you can get their AAL kit for like $265. I would advise to go with a full spring pack though, if you do some research you may find that it could be worth it to spend the extra $150 on new spring packs.

What is the advantage to new spring packs?

either RC or Rusty's both can begotten for under 300 bucks with shocks included

edit - add-a-leafs tend to flat back out and lose lift after about a year or so. Full spring packs replace your whole pack and last a lot longer. Also add-a-leafs is just one really stiff spring thrown into a pack that you want to be able to flex on trails. A full pack keeps the soft spring rate for flex but is arched more to give you lift as well.

I know you want to stay below $300.00, but it will be hard to get good equipment at that price. If you are not wheeling it and just driving back and forth to the mall it should be fine! If you plan on wheeling your rig, save your money and buy a quality kit. One that includes adj. control arms, adj. track bar, full leaf packs. Trust me you'll be glad you did it!! Good luck to ya!!

X2 for 300 you will be very limited to your lift options unless you go with a bastard pack. I would suggest just saving your money and get a couple hundred more then going with a RC 3" lift or the like.

From what I've read on here the last couple of months I've decided to put off my lift until I have enough money to afford the full packs, it'll be worth the wait.

Its refreshing to hear that some are actually doing that. Most ignore the advice and end up spending more money in the long run.

Excellent decision. Wait and buy the best quality you can. It will be worth it in the long run.

Rough Country has by far the BEST customer service out of all brands even the expensive ones. You have one lil problem even a year later. No questions asked they replace it. I ordered 3in full packs and when they fell on back order . The Rep Jason called me and asked if he could send me some AAL's Free of charge till my rear full packs came in. And once they did he just told me to Keep the AAL's. How can you beat that.

Thats awesome..

Though I have not lifted my XJ yet I have been looking for a 3-3.5" lift myself. I have not heard any bad things about Rubicon Express and the kits look reasonable. I may have to look into RC now though and compare.

Opinions are very biased but you will find few faults with the Rubicon Express kits. My opinion is that they are the Rolls Royce of Jeep kits. That's my opinion and I'm stickin' to it.

If you have plenty of money buy all means by rubicon express they are great. Rough Country lil more Rough but for the price and customer service. It is a great starter.

Some people want a first timer kit while others want a last timers kit. I would choose the last timers kit and be done with it once and for all. JMHO

Well i keep hearing that once you lift all you want to do is GO BIGGER. that is why i reccomend a cheaper 3 in. Next thing you know you will want 4.5 then 6.5 and what not.
