Default Lift gate lock inoperable.

All my electric locks work except the liftgate. I was able to put 12 volts to the lock actuator and it worked, so that tells me there is no power heading back there. Anyone dealt with this before?

On my 90 there are fusible links in the harness back there. Might be a place to start trouble shooting.

Was your fusible link up under the headliner? I'm thinking that on the 98 that all fusible links were replaced with maxi fuses in the power distribution box under the hood. I'm not sure though. I have not lifted any carpet, or dropped the headliner in this one yet. thanks for the idea, I'll check it out this morning.

take a multimeter to it an see if u are getting any volts to the harness. start in the back and work ur way to the front. while looking for a kinked wire. But first check to see if there are any fuses or relays.

My fusible links are in the harness under the rear hatch trim panel. Discovered 'em when I was replacing the latch and removing the blown speakers.

I forgot to reply to this after I figured it out. Sorry. There were 7 wires broken between the hatch, and the body. I ended up soldering and shrink wrapping them all, and now everything works.
