Default LHD .. RHD .. Wiring Question?

There is a few differences between the LHD and RHD XJ's this a wiring question I want to convert to LED Headlights and some come with Running Lights .... Over here in Australia we are RHD and have no running lights ..........
I have a 96 and have looked in the FSM 95/97 and still cant figure this out?
on my passenger side / your drivers side near the airbox behind the headlight there is a unused H4 looking plug?
I don't know if you guys have this extra wiring ?
I cant see Chrysler giving us Export RHD's a whole new wiring harness maybe a nip and tuck here n there ?
As the alternator and aircon compressor are flipped as well as the rest of the XJ ........
I haven't pulled my turn signals out as yet to see if there is a constant power wire there like in a youtube vid where a dude just spliced his headlight drl into his existing drl (daytime running lights)
just wondering what the spare wires are ?
Or any ideas how to hook up running lights in led headlights

Can you post a picture of the plug? I don't recall ever seeing a spare H4 look-alike on mine. Near the ECU is the diagnostics socket but that's surely too far away to be what you're seeing.

How do you want your DRLs to work? With ignition on or just when your side/marker lights are on? I have mine all set up so when the headlight switch is pulled to side and main positions, they are on.

The wiring is already there for the ambers below the headlight, it's just not conneted into the loom. As for the front corners and side repeaters, I made up a curcuit to join them in too as running lights and indicators.

Thanks boxburn I will have to post a pic as far as I know the ECU is the diagnostics socket is under the dash? that's where I plug my scanner in?
The AU model has no running lights of any kind just turn signals
I am yet to look at the wiring as I am waiting for a H4 Harness upgrade I bought to arrive in the post then while I pull everything apart I will look where the power goes

Yep, yours is OBD2 being a 96, mine OBD1 with 2 connectors.

Before I did what I did, all I had at the front was a white side light in the headlight, the indicator below the headlight and the repeater on the wing.
