About three weeks ago I re worked my entire brake system. By entire brake system I really do mean the entire brake system including lines, calipers, brake booster and master cylinder.
After having everything installed and the system bled I expected to have this stop on a dime brake system, NOT!
The brakes still felt a bit squishy and far from any kind of a confident brake system.
So I bled the system again and again with still the same result. I kept getting air in the lines. Checked everything and determined the system was solid.
After a couple of weeks of driving and bleeding the bakes they would once again fade more and more.
Finally being fed up I took it to a custom Jeep builder shop here in town. They determined the same thing and kept getting air in the lines as well.
They pulled the master cylinder and determined that when it was remanufactured that they rebuilt it with a faulty piston and sleeve.
They swapped it for a new one and I finally have brakes!
Lesson learned, when it comes to brakes, don't buy remanufactured stuff.
