leaving cooling system open
hi, i had a quick questions for you guys. How long would it be ok to leave the cooling system open with no coolant in it? i have everything i need to fix my jeep, but i got hurt at work and can only work for about an hour at a time so a full tear down and rebuild of the cooling system is going to take me a while. if it was just a weekend thing i wouldn't worry, just shove a rag in the holes and go from there, but it might be a week to a month for me to get it done. its going to be in the low 100's here while everything would be open as well, not sure if that makes a difference.
I am replacing everything in the cooling system due to overheating and the jeep sitting for 5 years.
thank you guys!
Steve

You will be fine. I don't know how it is where you live in Ca. But where I live in S. TX. make sure to plug any and all open areas to keep any thing from crawling in there and ruining and work that you are doing.
