My favorite part of the machine is the missing fan shroud on the mechanical fan....... Sweet.... Reminds me of my friends old bronco. I have the hood open on my rig so much that if I had no shroud my nickname would be stumps or fingers...So ya happy I'm not the only jeep with leaks. I started with the valve cover then the oil filter adapter.

I was JUST thinking about getting around to finding out where mine was leaking from too. Mine looks almost exactly the same from underneath.

I completely destroyed the shroud on mine when changing out the fan clutch lol.

Its not running anycooler without it. so im not to worried about it lol. and by the way the engine cleaner is not a product its a do it yourself carwash with the pressure washer handle. dont get scared.. the engine cleaner is low pressure.

Ya.... I was able to 1/2 turn all my valve cover bolts, I stopped the rear valve cover leak. But ultimately it was the oil filter adapter that stopped the leaks.

This is a great article on the oil filter mount leak and how to repair. I throw this out just in case. Mine made a big mess for awhile when it went out.

This fixed my oil leak...mine looked the same and turns out the oil filter adapter o-ring was a $3 part at NAPA and easy to fix! Oh, I also cranked my Valve cover too.

Dyes RULE for finding leaks. Dump 2 bottles in the oil spout, run the engine for about 5 minutes, then use a black light to find the leaks. All your leaks will show a fluorescent greenish color. (The dye is fluorescent orange but when it mixes with the oil it turns greenish). I found four leaks yesterday. My leaks are: rear of oil pan, oil filter adapter, rear of valve cover, and oil sending unit (all famous 4.0L leaks).

The dye doesn't impact the utility of any fluid. Can be used in oil, tranny fluid, power steering, etc.

You can get the dye and black light on Amazon.
