Default Leaks, I got leaks :(

OK, I know that I have a bad oil pan gasket, you can actually see it protruding out from in between the pan and block.. That should be pretty straight forward to fix..

But I also have a lot of oil seepage from the front differential, it is a D30, what am I in for in regards to replacing the diff seal?

And another note.. I just changed my oil and let it idle in the garage, and after a while I could hear what I can only describe as metal on metal, pistons sliding in the cylinders without any oil.. guess I better not let it idle like that after an oil change anymore...

diff seals are simple, tear it down and replace all the seals you run across, ther are only three. one at each axle shaft and on at the pinion. if you are hearing metal on metal after you changed the oil, the damage was already there. i dont really think that would be the case. if you are not shaving metal into the oil then i dont think you have a problem. cut your filter open and see if you have what looks like glitter in it. if not, you should be fine.
