Default Leaks are driving me crazy

I change my valve cover gasket and my leak seems to be the same or even a little worse. I did have a valve cover leak and now everything around it seems dry. I have oil dripping from the bellhousing and the pan under the transmission is covered in oil. It does not look like trans oil but I really cant tell. My enigne oil is full and my trans fluid seems full. I believe the RMS could be leaking but I dont see anything serious from that area. What really worries me is the layer of oil on the pan of the transmission. Has anyone seen this as well. I have searched and I dont find a lot of other similar issues.

you know, its funny because I did notice while lurking around under the jeep with a flash light that the Oil filter did seem a little oily. It did not seem like a lot but that is a very good thought. What I dont get is how that could cause oil on the bellhousing and pan. wouldnt it just drip directly off the Filter.

the 4 main areas are the valve cover, oil filter adapter, oil pan, rms, you should also check the distributor base, oil pressure sending unit.

Man I hope not. I dont seem to be loosing any coolant and the oil looks fine. It pretty brown, getting close to black... time for a change. I really dont seem to be loosing any oil, but the bellhousing and trans pan is coated in it. I am leaning towards the oil filter though. Some of my research online leads to this.

I did and it was a thin coat except for the back, I spread that on pretty thick. I checked and the valve cover seems ok. The bottom of the oil filter had a nice coating of oil on it though. I am hoping that is my issue.

Oil filter housing. Replace the o-rings and be leak free for a few days
