Default Leaking Transfer Case

Got a 95 cherokee. The transfer case is covered in oil and grease and so is the entire surrounding area. Wondering what would be a good place to start with for a leak. Also I have no idea if this is related or not but the drive shaft does not go in or come out easily. a hammer is needed to get it in or out.

Start by degreasing and power washing the area.

Once it is clean, you can pinpoint the source of the leak.

It might be the rear main seal from the engine blowing back oil to the transfer case. Or the front pump seal on the transmission.

Car wash with gunk.
You'll have to lay down & hit underneath.
