just the other day i was driving on the parkway for about 45 minutes and as i got to my exit, white smoke started to pour out of my cherokee. I pulled over only to find oil dripping out from my engine. Waited a few mintues, checked my dip stick and i was in the safe zone. We headed into pt pleasent beach and still no oil leaks, drove home, no smoke no leaks. I got home to examine the damage and it appeared that there was more oil residue on the passenger side and the oil filter area. I got an oil change a few days later and got a new filter. I was good for about 2 days and i noticed little leaks on the filter. Checked the o-ring and everything was fine. Today about a week later i saw a few more little drops hangin on the oil filter and some on the oil pan. Can anyone help me get to the bottom of this leak!!!!

maybe a valve cover gasket??? i have a leak too. but my XJ don't leak until after the oil gets up into the valve cover and has been running for a while. that is my reasoning for say valve cover gasket.
