Leaf Springs

Ok so I got my AAL kit and installing it tomorrow. My orig. leaf springs are shot. Should I get a beafier spring from a s10 and just not add the AAL or use the AAL and get used OEM springs? What is everyone's opinion. I want to be able to carry a load w/o it sagging in the back so bad.

ok so should I get something beefier like from an s10 or go with stock OEM Cherokee springs?

Its up to you. I went with Dodge Dakota leaf springs. It ended up giving me a 4.5" lift and I can carry gear and not worry about the rear end sagging down. It wasnt that hard of a mod.

Make it simple on yourself just get the oem replacements that are hd and call it a day...

If you've already purchased a lift kit with an AAL, replace the leafs in there now with new stock OEM Cherokee springs. The 'bastard packs' with S10 or Dakota springs are for building lifts without a commercial AAL kit.

Man I was hoping to not spend much more money. All the New springs are about 200 a piece! Unless you guys know of somewhere online cheaper?

Quadratec. Look into OME leafs. Nets you 2" and are well worth the money. My two Lincoln's.

Thanks those are not bad. I forgot about quadratec even though I get their magazine. I'll have to order some when I get paid again. Thanks again for the help.

If you are low on cash, you can still get the S-10 packs, just don't install all the leafs. Sell the AAL's to someone else.
Does that sound like an alternative solution to others here?

Yep, its just a choice of which way to go. I didn't have a ton of money to blow so I went with the "bastard pack."

I was wondering about this myself. Not too much cash right now but my XJ needs a butt-lift without too much lift (maybe an inch or two just to level it back out or give it the ever so slight hint of rear to front tilt), if you get my meaning. My stockers are even slightly curved downward right now. Put 100 pounds in the back and my headlights are coon hunting!
