1988 XJ 4.0
I am looking for the Liftgate latch assembly Mopar# 55006864, my latch works to open and close but the plastic that controls the lock function has always been missing since I bought it. I am hoping to find a latch so that I can lock it up. I'm assuming that it is going to be a JY search, The following link shows the latch in question (of course its sold). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Shows as discontinued. I would think at this point a used one from a salvage vehicle would be your best bet.

 

*UPDATE*
My son went and took the latch assembly out of his uncles 89 and used his CAD program to 3D print a new plastic engagement slide. He made some structural upgrades from the OEM plastic to eliminate the weak spots, it works like a dream and now I can lock my hatch. For future reference I have the CAD file saved if anyone should have the same problem.

 

Would you consider posting them on Thingverse or equivalent site?
