how long do you think it will last? I think its a rod problem.

that rod can go through the block today or tomorrow. i have seen some take months. would i drive it with a bent rod? hell no. not worth being stranded somewhere because you had an issue you never fixed

 

yes i'm serious. I'm trying to buy a 91 cherokee for $400. He told me knocking was the only problem. If thats the case, I think I'll get it towed. thanks for the reply. how much you think i can find an engine for? maybe buying this truck for $400 might not be worth it.

 

here in the PNW you can find a 4.0 with all the computer stuff for $500.

i would find a running xj if I were you, but thats just me. good luck with your decision!

Motors can be found for less than 500. If this is what you want and have checked it out for other problems get it. Its worth 400 in parts anyways.
What year? What motor, etc?

 

Go buy a brand new motor for 1800.00 with a warrenty if you have the money or if not try to get a good one from the j/y but thats a coin toss there. You could always rebuild the j/y motor for around rough guess cause I dont know your area 1000.00 total roughly not sure.Also wecome from upstate NY
