So I've had the problem since i got my Jeep almost 2 months ago I think. 99 XJ sport.

It has what I'm assuming to be just the standard Jeep Keyless Entry system.
But anyway
When i press the unlock button only the rear doors the rear hatch and sometimes the passenger door unlock. When i lock it only the rear doors lock.

When i hit the lock button i can hear a noise of the motor or whatever inside the door, but usually its not doing anything

Same thing with the lock/unlock button inside the jeep.
Im not sure if maybe it just needs reprogrammed or if i need to take the door panels off and see if something isnt hooked up right or if its a bigger problem and i got some wires messed up somewhere.

Then I would check the linkages. Verify the motor is moving when buttons are pushed. If motor does nothing check wires from switches, every inch, to the kick panel. Yes even in the rubber tube between the door and jam. The newer body styles, 97+, had chaffing problems, on some the wires in that tube would rune through. My 99 did but on the power windows. My switch would work but pass side was intermittent. Turns out all the switches wiring junctions to the driver switch.
