Is it possible to install an aftermarket Keyless entry system to a 96 jeep cherokee? i bought valiant-keyless entry system and want to make sure it will work?

 

Im sure you can, probably going to be a decent bit of work, for a little gadget that will add no real value.

 

I'm not as much worried about the value, more about how lazy i am and hate using keys to unlock all my doors, can anyone else comfirm this would work?

 

it will work, goggle the mounting instructions for the device and you will see how it connects to either the power or ground side of the door lock switch

 

Yes, they're universal. Installable in any vehicle with power locks.

 

I installed the valiant alarm and key-less entry one on my 91. Not too bad almost all the work is under the steering wheel, good afternoon project. Nice not to have to use the key when opening the door for your girl.

 

How long does it take? the instruction i got with mine arent very descriptive, also it says there 3 different ways to do it depending ont he type of door, i have a 1996 jeep cherokee sport, any tips or help you could give? thanks

 

Maybe 3-4 hours. Test it before you solder, up to you, and button everything back up. I had something wired backwards and blew a fuse. Not the one I used but here. I think that has everything. Also up to you, but I did not hook up the starter kill switch. I was have way to many issues getting it started to add that to the checklist.
