Keyless Entry
I have a 2k 4.0L Sport. The Jeep has keyless entry. Sometimes attempting to unlock or lock the Jeep the keyless does not work. If it's locked, it won't open until I hit the lock button then it can be unlocked. Also, when it's unlocked I have to hit the unlock button then the lock button to lock. I've changed the battery and opened the remote and cleaned battery contacts. Any ideas? Thanks

I have a 98 sport and I just recently started having the same problem. Most of the time it works fine but when I do have problems it will last anywhere from a day to a week then it's fine again.

I didn't want to start a new thread for this question. If my fob doesn't work would the key work fine for entry and ignition? Or would the alarm go off? Does the alarm go off at all or just when pressing the panic button?

Key cylinder should disarm it. And yes the keyless is an issue with there. Your best bet is to get an aftermarket keyless installed. Very simple and much better range.
