Default K&N or AEM?

I just bought a 97 Cherokee Sport 4WD and I can't wait to ditch the factory airbox. I'm just not sure what would be the best for my $$$, any advice?

OEM or snorkel. Anything else is pissing money down the drain.

Welcome to the forum, by the way.

Gee is right. The OEM airbox performs the same or better than any aftermarket one. Although they guarantee a horsepower increase one has never been proven to be substantial.

i really like the induction sound my AEM makes but i will be the first to say its a big waste of money. you could make $230 or whatever the AEM kit is go way further some place else on the jeep

So I gather I'm better off sticking with OEM, unless I'm going for looks or sound. What about going snorkel?

In my opinion if you can hear your airbox hiss your exhaust isn't loud enough.

Snorkels are just plain bad ***.

An ARB knockoff is sold on ebay, many have had success.

You can also make them yourself, but quality depends on your abilities and the time and effort you put in.

AEM FTW.

FWIW,
A quality built and properly installed CAI is a good investment. Cooler air is beneficial to your motor.

Snorkels are fine and dandy if;
Your rig see's a lot of deep water.
Never gets close to anything that will rip it off.
