Just an old transmission or something to be concerned for?
Was drivin my '91 XJ the other day, helping move some stuff into the new house. Anyway, I took her home on I-81, which was kinda different because I hadn't driven the jeep on interstate for a while. Anyway, and the transmission did this prior to now, when I got home, I noticed that when I went from Drive to Reverse (automatic), there would be a nice little clunk. Nothing catastrophic or grinding or anything, just a clunk. Went in reverse just fine, no issues. Went to switch it back to drive, and when I went from reverse to neutral, there was a very slight shift feel (which I deemed as normal, it was literally hardly a thing at all), then went from neutral to drive, and another good little clunk.
The Jeep drives great, with no slipping or power loss or anything. And I've noticed that she only does it after I've driven for a good little bit, after she's reached operating temp.
I just want to know if this is just an old transmission doing its thing, or if I need to worry about something. Because honestly, the Jeep never has a driving issue, and the transmission has never given me problems. All fluids are good, nice color and right amount.
Thanks!

A friend mentioned that. Anyway to check those?
I've also heard a loose tranny mount can be a cause. Is that just a matter of climbing under and tightening the bolts?
If the cause is either of those and nothing in the tranny then I would be happy. A quick repair vs an expensive time consuming one is a blessing in my book.

Thanks! I appreciate the input. I'm gonna run outside real quick and see if I can find any play in the rear shaft or if anything looks to be out of order.
