Default Just died and won't restart

Jeep just died today while driving no spit and sputter nothing just shut off. Sprayed some starting fluid in it and seems as if it wants to start. Turned key on and no fuel is spraying out of the fuel rail. So therefore no fuel pressure.

I'm thinking it's the pump or filter. How hard are these to change?

Or if you guys think anything different let me know.

Thanks!

It's a 96 XJ btw.

Default fuel filter

fuel filter is easy its on the frame rail drivers side rear just in front of the axle.....But with what you are describing with no fuel pressure at all sounds like the fuel pump

I still have a little because I sprayed all the fuel out of the fuel rail, turned the key and did it again and only a little bit came out so I think I have some pressure but the filter is clogged what do you think?

Also is there a hole in the back hatch area that comes off to get to the pump? I know some cars have them but wasn't sure about the XJ.

You can get the pump out without dropping the tank just look under there you'll see. and hopefully you don't have a full tank.

That depends on the year I think. My 97 looks like I'd have to drop it. And on mine there is no inline fuel filter, the filter is on the sending unit itself.
