it always happens when im the only one in the car, but while I am driving at a speed above 50 on a highway if I don't happen to see a small pothole and my drivers side front wheel hits it then the wheel begins to shake which then makes my entire jeep shake violently until i hit the brakes and pull over. I have checked to see if the tires are tight enough and they all are. anybody have the same problems and know how to fix it?
It is commonly referred to as "death wobble, death shake, death shimmy, holy crap shake" You should check to make sure your pahard arm is tight, then have somebody turn the wheel left to right well you examine the joints making sure nothing is lose.
Key things to check
Alignment
Tie rod ends
Upper shock bushings
Panhard arm
if it's none of these things it may be a caster issue, but most commonly an alignment issue.

My buddy's zj with 7in of lift use to shake violently when hitting bumps and progressively got worse over a year. It got so bad that it would shake after 30mph.It turned out to be the rear control arm bushings were completely deteriorated. So check for looseness in the control arms too.
