nope... ended up being a short in the wiring on the coil... 300 miles so far and not so much as a shutter

What exactly was the short?
Were the wires frayed? Exposed?
How does a wire short in the XJ?
How did you fix it? Just butt connect the frayed wire?

near the coil there is a bundle of wires, if you take the tape off you will see a green wire, with a splice in it... the splice if the problem, from what I have read Jeep / Dodge / Chrysler products are bad about this

A little over 500 miles on the Jeep since the fix and no problems
